These Middle east deer have found refuge around the Texas hill country in the rolling limestone hills, juniper choked and valleys and live oak mots. By escapees from high fence ranches from years past the Axis deer have become a free-range hunter off season treat. Hunting them in the main portion of the rut mid May through August we can find most mature bucks hard horned and screaming all hours of the day in the usually 100 degree plus degree Fahrenheit heat.
These hunts are spot and stalk glassing and calling these mature bucks. We like to set up these hunts 2 hunters per one guide sense normally there is multiple bucks in one group. Typical shots are 100-300 yards but farther shots to arise. Be able to walk in uneven and rocky terrain. Snake gators or snake boots are recommended for these hunts. These are fully guided, ranch house lodging and home style meals all included. These hunts are 3 day, one half day upon arrival, 2 full days and 1 half day upon departing.
Bucks with 30” main beams plus front and back point are expected as trophies.
