West Texas Aoudad

A true West Texas backcountry hunt for mature, hard-earned trophy rams across some of the most demanding terrain in the state.

Aoudad hunting in West Texas is as challenging as it is rewarding. Expect steep canyons, rocky terrain, thick brush, and long days under the Texas sun. These North African sheep have adapted perfectly to this rugged landscape, making them one of the most elusive and hard-earned trophies in the state.

Success on an aoudad hunt comes from patience, endurance, and time spent glassing and covering country in search of a mature ram. These are true spot-and-stalk hunts that often require significant hiking through rough terrain to close the distance.

Our aoudad hunts are structured as four-day experiences, including a half-day on arrival, three full hunting days, and a final half-day on departure. Guests are provided with home-style meals and ranch-style lodging when available, offering a comfortable base after long days in the field.

You’ll be guided by experienced, professional hunters who know the terrain and understand how to consistently locate mature rams.

We primarily target 30”+ rams aged 9 years or older, with shot opportunities typically ranging from 200 to 600 yards depending on conditions and terrain.
