Spot & Stalk Javelina
Hunt free-range javelina in the rugged canyons and brush country of West Texas.
Javelina thrive in some of the harshest landscapes Texas has to offer. From rocky hillsides and brush-filled draws to thorn-covered desert terrain, these unique animals provide an exciting spot-and-stalk hunting experience in true West Texas country.
Our javelina hunts are conducted much like our other free-range West Texas hunts, relying on glassing and carefully planned stalks to locate and approach animals. Javelina are highly social and can be found in groups ranging from just a few animals to herds of twenty or more. During the heat of the day, they often seek cover in thick brush and shaded draws before moving into more open areas to feed during the morning and evening hours.
Both males and females possess the sharp canine teeth known as “cutters” and share similar coloration, making body size one of the primary indicators of maturity. Our guides focus on identifying and targeting mature boars whenever possible.
These all-inclusive hunts are structured as three-day experiences, including a half-day on arrival, two full hunting days, and a final half-day on departure. Guests enjoy home-style meals, comfortable ranch-style lodging, and professional 2×1 guided service throughout their stay.
A minimum of two hunters is required to book this hunt, and each hunter may harvest up to two javelina in accordance with their Texas hunting license.
